Needing a little bit of lighthearted comedy, we turned to the children's movie for a little bit of escapism.
"Bedtime Stories" - Starring Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Jonathan Morgan Heit, and Laura Ann Kesling with Guy Pearce, Courtney Cox, Russell Brand, Lucy Lawless, Teresa Palmer and Richard Griffiths written by Matt Lopez and Tim Herlihy directed by Adam Shankman. It's always hit or miss with Adam Sandler and you never know what you're going to get, but I thought this one would be cute and heartwarming a la 50 First Dates, or the Wedding Singer and hopefully not a dud like Zohan, it was adequate. Definately tailored to the "shorter" crowd and a younger audience Sandler toned down his crudeness and lightened up on the nonsense. Brand was better in this than as the host of MTV's Video awards and (Keri) Russell wasn't as cute as in Waitress but still radiates throughout the pic. The story is a little weak and the graphics leave much to be desired. The characters aren't developed all that well but it is a children's movie so I'll let it slide a bit. Overall pretty entertaining but mostly geared toward kids. 3.5/5 Remotes
