Sports Headlines

I'm suffering a little bit of a writer's block today so I've decided to give little blurbs on the sporting world that I live in.

Tigers (Basketball) - So they say it's hard to beat a team 3 times in a season, well, the Tigers proved that one yesterday. In the opening round of the Big XII tourney Nebraska became just the 2nd 12 seed to advance in the tourney defeating Mizzou 75-60. We'll just have to see if their performance just knocks them down a couple of seeds (hopefully) and doesn't completely burst their bubble.

Tigers (Baseball) - They're playing in Columbia and that's all that really matters. They ended their 4 game skid last night at home and beat Western Illinois 10-3 in a "rain shortened game." We'll take it and hopefully will be able to take in a game this weekend over at Taylor stadium as well.

Tigers (Softball) - Two words: Hell, Yeah! Ranked number 3 in the country they're off to a 13-2 start. The ladies on the softball squad are firing on all cylinders and they see no end in sight, Go Tigers!

Cardinals - Spring training is in full swing and people are all up and arms because Pujols and Holliday are "injured." Well folks it is still spring training and the games don't really matter. What is encouraging is the main pitching staff's ability. Penny is throwing well which is unexpected at worst; Carp and Wainwright haven't lost much from where they ended up last year and Loshe went 4 innings today and didn't give up a run. Let Pujols and Holliday rest up and get back into playing form it's a 162 game season and we need them for that. Take a chill pill Cardinals' nation they'll be back and they'll start kicking tail in no time.
