So long awaited...or not so long awaited movie reviews, let's not waste any time, here we go...

"Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" - Starring Martin Freeman, Mos Def, Sam Rockwell , and Zooey Deschanel as well as several other voice talents and cameo apperances including Alan Rickman, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Warwick Davis. The movie is based on the book of the same name by Douglas Adams and who also wrote the screenplay. (I have not read the book, I hear it's better, don't know I'm not a reader but here's the review of the movie) The story is a space aged trip across the galaxy after the main character finds out Earth is to be demolished to make way for a space highway. The main character, Arthur, played by Freeman is then taken on a whirlwind tour with his alien friend Ford Perfect played by Mos Def. The end up on a hijacked ship searching out the meaning of life with love interest Trillian (Deschanel) onboard as well. The ship hijacked by Zaphod Beeblebrox (Rockwell) is special in its own right with a know-it-all robot and jokester for it's AI running the ship. The story then unfolds in a sometime zany, always weird manner. The film is entertaining and satirically very funny in parts with a little bit of heart sprinkled throughout. No one actor steals the show but Deschanel is charming, as always, and the ensemble works well together. 3.5/5 Remotes.

"Fever Pitch" - Starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. Let me be up front and honest about this movie, it's a romantic comedy. Anyone who puts this in the field of a baseball movie is wrong! With that being said it is a romantic comedy with baseball and therefore it is acceptable to watch granted you have a companion to watch it with. The story follows a teacher Ben (Fallon) who is a die hard Red Sox fan as he begins, develops, and trudges through his relationship with workaholic Lindsey (Barrymore). The story capitalizes on all the guy cliches and obvious jokes about the things guys will do instead of being with their girlfriends/wives. For example missing a birthday party to be at a game or missing a holiday because of spring training, not that those things ever happen in real life. Anyway, not to spoil the ending but it does end at the end of the 2004 series in St. Louis in which Boston ended its curse and won the series. Overall the movie (and Barrymore) was cute and with the addition of baseball into the script made the film worth watching. It was a little too traditional and lovey dovey at times throughout the story but an ok film none the less. 3.5/5 Remotes

"Dukes of Hazzard" - Starring (I use this term loosely) Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, Jessica Simpson, and Burt Reynolds, with strong cameos by Willie Nelson and Lynda Carter. Alright this is gonna be short and sweet...worst movie since Catwoman, I'm ashamed to say I made it through all of it, best performer was the General Lee and a close second was Willie Nelson. Only reason it made the list was for the "pop culture" value in a trivia game down the road...in retrospect probably shouldn't have happened. 1/5 Remote
