Of course there was the 4th of July with explosions and freedom and stuff but despite my patriotic and civic duty leanings the 4th isn't my favorite holiday. My adverse reaction to the 4th is most definitely, partially, from my mom and her "burn unit" experience and partially from my experience of some of my fellow Americans call to express their "freedoms" of blowing things up and drinking heavily, two things that I and pardon my prudence, should never go together. (Sorry English people for that horrible sentence but that's how its going to be on my blog) My biggest concern for the 4th was how my little one was going to deal with the fireworks. We, despite some other advice, decided to keep the little one up until the explosions went off, turned out to be a good idea. While she wasn't wide awake when the fireworks went up in the air she did clap for the first half, the second and the grand finale, zzzzz-ville, it was crazy cute. Overall it was great to see a lot of the family and was probably was one of the better 4th's lately with friends and family from all over. Lunches, parties, meetings and fireworks were fun while it lasted, just seems the the meetings are too few and far between. Hopefully this will start the ball rolling again for the 100 blog charge and I'll be able to catch up soon, until then more pretty pictures.
