(Spoiler Alert)
To steal their tag line, "The Toys are Back in Town", and boy did they make an entrance...to the tune of $110 Million in their opening weekend. I'm not sure if there was little more than a inkling of doubt that these characters and their parents at Pixar were not going to anything but run away with the weekend's box office, but can they capture lightning in the bottle a 3rd time? (With all apologies to the "preschool toys" who are reading) Hell yes they can, and this time they can do it in 3D! Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Rex, Hamm, Potato and all the rest of the gang are back in their 3rd animated feature. This time Andy is headed off to college and, just like the rest of us "grown ups", he has been forced to make a decision what to do with his toys. The options presented to him by his mom are; out to the curb, up in the attic, or they're going with you to college. After a mix up the gang gets "transferred" to Sunnyside Daycare, and while everything may seem great and they're back to being played with, everything is not as "sunny" as it seems. The gang is then forced to make their escape and try to find their way back to Andy.
The story, which relates to anyone who ever owned and loved a toy, is a seamless continuation from the rest of the films. However, I think this one strikes closer to the heart than any of the others. While I must admit to tearing up when Jessie sang her song in Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3 makes you wrestle and question your decisions throughout but in the end provides heart and comfort from all the friends that you've made along the way. The added feature of 3D, which just like in UP, provided depth and visual preciseness that made you think you weren't watching an animated feature but a live action film shot just like the biggest blockbuster.

Without giving too much away my only critique isn't with the film at all but lies in their marketing department.
In one of the biggest switcheroos I've ever known they market their villain, Lotso Huggin Bear, as a cuddly teddy bear everyone wants. I'm not quite sure how I'm gonna explain that to my little one once she can understand and hopefully the marketing will be faded enough by then that he's only just the "bad guy."

Little doubt to my remotes on this one 5/5, probably the best movie of the year. Yes, you heard that right probably the best movie of the year. (I'm leaving some room for Tron: Legacy) Well done Pixar, well done, once again.
